CREAM SURPRISE
A poem by Mark Perry, to celebrate the redecorating of the Centre.
Note: the paint is called ‘Custard Cream’.
We have our funny feeling it looks like clotted cream or Paignton Review anyway.
We have our funny feeling it sounds like a creamy juice –
Oh by the way did you notice something new?
Yes, it’s custard cream surprise!
Oh, by the way, did you notice they missed lots and lots of spots?
Hey that’s right, they missed a spot, and that’s why it’s called cream surprise!
Helen and Mum (Sandra) they were painting the walls,
And there was me, Mark, sat down beside the cool fan, dude…
After all I did water the plants and by the time when we finished
It was clotted custard cream lemon paint!
It’s party time all the time, God bless the paint,
Thank you and farewell.
